Where is Copeton?
Located on the western slopes of the New England Ranges, 550 km Northwest of Sydney, 440 km Southwest of Brisbane and only 40 km from the thriving centre of Inverell. Copeton Waters State Park is a 900 hectare recreational and adventure playground.

Copeton Dam holds three times the volume of Sydney Harbour and is a fisherman's delight with species such as yellow belly, murray cod, catfish, redfin and silver perch in plentiful supply.

The Northcott Centre Cafe located with the Administration Centre stocks groceries, fuel, gas, bait and lures. Fishing licences are also available. It also offers hot and cold lunches, morning and afternoon teas. Catering for groups is available on request. Entry to the Park is via an admission charge which allows access to the Park, while also including free use of the barbeque and picnic facilities, six hole golf course, floodlit tennis courts and the playgrounds. During the summer months a child's wading pool is available adjacent to the waterslide. Golf clubs, tennis racquets, 6 person fishing boats and bicycles are available for hire. Details of accommodation, camping and other charges are available by contacting the Parks Administration Centre.
The Park offers a diversity of walk tracks, where cyclists and nature lovers can explore this piece of paradise. Water activities include - canoeing, sailing, swimming, water-skiing, and general boating activities.
